Today, we recieved a letter in the mail. It was not any letter - it was one of the most important letters we have ever received.
Today, we found out a little more about the angel who gave Othello his second chance at life.
We want to take a moment to extend love, well wishes and thanks to HIS family.
Dear Othello's donor's family,
You have given us the most precious gift - more time with Othello. He has been able to accomplish so much - because of your love and selflessness.
Your letter has helped us put a name to Othello's angel. When we opened the envelope, our hearts raced and tears welled in my eyes. We did not expect to hear back from you...The gift you gave us was enough to last a lifetime, your response to our letter - made it all even more precious.
I've said many times that this is a small world. The technology we have now - enables us to overcome miles and bring us closer to someone we otherwise never would have known. When we were returning from the transplant center in June - we were approached by a group of people who had seen Othello on the news. They extended their hand and friendship. They helped us with our luggage and keeping Othello and I company at the airport and on the plane. (even though the plane trip was cut short)
Now, to learn that you have been keeping track of Othello's progress VIA his website, soon after you gave him another chance, warms my heart. It fills me with great joy, knowing that Othello's website has been able to give you some peace in knowing that your precious son was able to help Othello.
I want you to know - This website of Othello's is here to help other familes...donor familes and recipient familes alike...If we can give some hope, peace, encouragement to anyone, someone...then we have accomplished a lot.
Thank you again for your love and kindness. I hope you have found peace. If you ever want to talk or email us...we are here, when/if you are ready..
